Фильм о молоканах деревни Ивановка в Азербайджане. Герои предлагают три версии происхождения названия молокане. 		["The Festival: second day" ... “Na zlachnykh pazhitiakh” (On Green Pastures*)

The film is about Molokans in Ivanovka village, Azerbaijan. Three versions for the origin of the name Molokans [milk-drinkers] are presented.
  1. Молокане не держат постов в среду и пятницу, пьют молоко, оттого и прозваны так.
  2. Самая фантастическая версия: Екатерина приказала переселить молокан, да по дороге побольше изморить. Надсмотрщику же она писала письма, в которых интересовалась, как умирают сектанты — "как канут?" А тот ей писал: "Мало канут!" Оттого и получили прозвище "малокане" — неубиваемые.
  3. Молокане зовутся так, потому что вера у них без примесей и искажений — чистая, как молоко.
В фильме показана молоканская процедура бракосочетания.

  1. Molokans do not fast on Wednesday and Friday, but drink milk, and because of that they are so-called.
  2. The most fantastic version: Catherine [the Great] ordered the Molokans to relocate, and on the trip it drizzled [light rain] a lot. She wrote a letter to the Supervisor in which she was interested in how the sectarians died — "how did they drop?". And he wrote to her: "Few dropped!" [malo kanut] Thus they were given the nickname "malokane — not decreased.**
  3. Molokane [milk-drinkers] themselves say that it's because their faith is without impurities and distortions — pure as milk.
The movie shows the Molokan marriage ceremony.

* Title adapted from Psalm 23:2, King James Version; Psalms 22:2, Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition; variously translated as "In Lush Pastures", "In a Place of Pasture", "In pastures of tender grass", "In green meadows", etc. Most common seems to be: "On Green Pastures".
** Another version is they were named for the Milky Waters region (Molochnaia), Tavria province (now South Ukraine). The "milk-drinker" heresy (molokane) was first recorded in the 1760s, more than a century before they were relocated in the 1800s.
The film advertisement by Narimanfilm shows this image. These are not Molokans in Azerbaidjan. They are Jumpers in Armenia. Azeri documentary film about the life of Molokans will compete in a festival in Qatar

БАКУ — Документальный фильм «На злачных пажитях»*, снятый азербайджанской кинокомпанией «Нариманфильм», будет показан в конкурсной программе III Международного фестиваля документального кино ALJAZEERA.
 BAKU — The documentary film "Na zlachnykh pazhitiakh" ("On Green Pastures"*), made by the Azerbaijan motion picture company "Narimanfilm", will compete at the The 3rd Aljazeera International Documentary Film Festival.
Как сообщили в компании, данный конкурс будет проходить с 23 по 26 апреля в Дохе (Катар). Режиссер фильма «На злачных пажитях» — Ильгар Сафат, также будет участвовать в конкурсе и представлять фильм. The company reports that the film festival will be held April 23 - 26 in Dozhe (Qatar). The director of the film "On Green Pastures",  Il'gar Safat, will also participate in the competition and present the film.
Фильм рассказывает об общине молокан, проживающих на протяжении вот уже двухсот лет в горах Азербайджана, и о толерантности азербайджанского народа.
 The film tells about a community of Molokans, who have already lived here for 200 years in the Azerbaijan mountains, and about the tolerance of the Azerbaijan people.
Ранее фильм «На злачных пажитях» принимал участие на международных кинофестивалях, проходивших в России (Москва*, Санкт-Петербург, Казань), Германии (Берлин) и других странах.

В ноябре 2006 фильм «На злачных пажитях» стал лауреатом Международного кинофестиваля «Я здесь живу», организованного Международной академией телевидения и радиовещания.
 In November 2006 the film "On Green Pastures" recieved an award at the international film festival "I live here", organized by the International Academy Television and Radio Broadcasting. [It took 3rd place in the "descriptive" category]

Двести лет в горах Азербайджана живут «молокане», высланные из России во времена Екатерины Второй. Cтароверы живут обособленно, общиной: за двести лет их патриархальный уклад почти не изменился. «Молокане» — люди набожные и трудолюбивые, — хранят традиции «допетровской» Руси, но органично сосуществуют в культурной мозаике Азербайджана. Фильм рассказывает об их удивительной общине. For 200 years "Molokans" lived in the Azerbaijan mountains. They were exiled from Russia during the time of Catherine II [The Great]. These old-faith people [not "old believers"] lived as a separate community, their patriarchal structure has barely changed in  200 years. "Molokans" are devout and industrious people, they preserve Russian traditions "preceding Peter the Great", but organically they coexist in the cultural mosaic of Azerbaijan. The film tells about their facinating community.
